Activating EE eSIM on Motorola

Confirm your Motorola supports eSIM
Check your device specs — not all Motorola models support eSIM. iPhones from XR onwards, Samsung Galaxy from S20 onwards, and Google Pixel from Pixel 3 onwards support eSIM.
Check your device is unlocked
A carrier-locked Motorola will reject EE eSIM. To check: go to Settings → Network & internet → Mobile network → Advanced → Access Point Names. If you see a carrier lock message, contact your current provider to unlock.
Request a fresh QR code from EE
eSIM QR codes expire after 24–72 hours. If the code was emailed more than 3 days ago, contact EE on 150 (free from EE mobile) to get a new activation link.
Scan in good lighting with mobile data off
Turn off mobile data and Wi-Fi (use only the activation download). Scan the QR code using Settings → Network & internet → Mobile network → Advanced → Access Point Names on your Motorola. Ensure the code is fully visible — partial scans fail silently.
Follow EE activation path
Complete activation via: EE app → My Account → Manage SIM → Add eSIM. Follow every on-screen prompt without skipping steps. Carrier provisioning can take 10–15 minutes.
Restart and wait for provisioning
After activation completes, restart your Motorola and wait up to 30 minutes for EE to fully provision the eSIM profile. Data and calls should activate automatically.
Contact EE if still inactive
If the eSIM shows as installed but has no service after 30 minutes, call EE on 150 (free from EE mobile). The provisioning record may need resetting on EE's system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my Motorola compatible with EE eSIM?

To use EE eSIM on your Motorola, the device must be eSIM-compatible and unlocked. iPhones from XR onwards, Samsung Galaxy from S20 onwards, and Pixel from Pixel 3a support eSIM. Confirm compatibility at the EE eSIM information page or call 150 (free from EE mobile).

How long does EE eSIM activation take?

Most EE eSIM activations complete within 15 minutes. In some cases, provisioning can take up to 2 hours. If your eSIM shows as installed but has no service after 2 hours, restart your Motorola and contact EE on 150 (free from EE mobile) to trigger a manual provisioning refresh.

Can I have both eSIM and physical SIM on EE?

Yes, if your Motorola supports Dual SIM — most modern flagships do. You can run a EE eSIM alongside a physical SIM from another carrier, or use the EE eSIM as your primary and keep a travel SIM as secondary.
